Ali and Jon are both trained in self-defense skills (you wouldn't want to meet them in a dark alley ha ha!), so this evening taught the Explorers a few moves. And just as exciting, tonight was our first meeting in our new base, the Haslemere Youth Hub - we've been very lucky to be able to start using it as it is being readied for September.

It's traditional in Scouting to celebrate St George's day as Baden-Powell, the founder of the Scouting movement adopted St George as the patron saint of Scouting. It's a day when we renew the promise we made when each of us joined the Scouting movement, either as children or adults. This year's celebrations were hosted by Chiddingfold Scouts. Draca Explorers patiently taught fire lighting skills to Beavers and Cubs from across the district.
It was bitterly cold. Snow fell on day three on the top of Mam Tor and the wind blew a hooley. But our Explorers have grit and determination by the bucket load - well done everyone!
